Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 (無職転生~異世界行ったら本気だす~第2期 Mushoku Tensei Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Dai-ni ki) is the second season of the Anime series based on the original Mushoku Tensei series of light novels written by Rifujin na Magonote. The anime began broadcasting on July 2, 2023.

Announcements[]

In July 31, 2023 the official Twitter Page announces the opening of the University Arc on August 6, 2023 along with the release of the 4th Key visual.[1]

On December 20, 2023 the official Twitter Page released a new key visual for the second cour, confirming its release in April 2024 [2]

On February 3, 2024, the official Twitter page released a new key visual for the second part, confirming that the second part would begin airing April 7, 2024[3] A new trailer is also announced on the same day that previews the life of Rudeus Greyrat and Sylphiette during their childhood together, their journey after the Teleport Incident, their reunion at Ranoa Magic Academy in Sharia leading to their marriage and reunion with Ruijerd Superdia, Norn Greyrat and Aisha Greyrat.[4]

On February 28, 2024, the official website announces the Part 2 OP will be On the Frontline by HITORIE and ED will be Mamoritai Mono by Yuiko Ōhara[5]

On March 2, 2024, the official twitter also announces the release of fifth preview video that features the new OP[6]

On March 23, 2024, the official twitter released a new preview video that features the new ED and various scenes to be seen for the new season.[7]

On May 12, 2024, the official x released a new preview video for the Labyrinth Arc and a new key visual. [8]

On May 18, 2024, the official twitter announced the postponement of the Desert Journey episode has been postponed to May 26 and airs a special episode featuring the cast in preparation for the Labyrinth Arc. [9]


Synopsis[]

A 34-year-old man, jobless, shut-in and NEET. On a certain day, after he got kicked out of the house, met his death in a traffic incident... or so the man thought. The instant he thought that, suddenly he was reincarnated as "Rudeus" in a world of swords and magic. With the piled regret and experience from his previous life, he swears to live his life earnestly this time around.

Meeting with various peoples, various magic training... the now developed Rudeus is setting on a really harsh and cruel journey, such as Teleportation Incident involving his hometown, Fittoa Region, and other various tales. After prevailing many hardships and successfully coming home, Rudeus became one with her beloved Eris. However, the very next morning, Rudeus suffered a heavy shock after realising the sudden disappearance of Eris. He had given up on everything and reverted to his shut-in and NEET self, just like the previous world. Alas, as the only lost person in his family caused by Teleportation Incident, his mother, Zenith has not been found yet. Now he is determined to find Zenith, and Rudeus is standing up on his legs once more.

Similar to Season 1, Season 2 is scheduled to air 25 episodes that will be divided into 2 cours where Part 1 airs on July 2023 then after a 6 month break, Part 2 will air on April 2024.[10]
