Jinas Halfas (ジーナス・ハルファス Jīnasu Harufasu) is the current vice principal of the Ranoa Magic Academy. He was promoted from the teacher position.
Appearance[]
Jinas has short gray hair that frames his face. He is also always seen wearing a dark coat with a white collar that is covered by a blue robe with the Ranoa Magic Academy emblem at the left chest.[1]
Personality[]
It was stated by Roxy that he was very haughty and overbearing in the past when he was Roxy’s teacher. Now, he’s said to give off a strong image of being a diligent corporate worker that gives off a venerable and gentle demeanor. When he meets Roxy again, he apologizes for his past mistakes.
Cliff considers him to be a "decent, understanding man" while Norn describes him as honest. He has a strong sense of justice and treats people equally.[2]
Background[]
Jinas was Roxy's teacher in Ranoa. In the past, he got jealous with Roxy's talent and told her something bad. Some years later he become the Vice-Principal of Ranoa Magic University.
Plot[]
After he heard the achievements of Rudeus, Jinas sent a letter to him, inviting him to study as a special student in Ranoa.[3]
After receiving a letter that Zenith has been found, Rudeus meets with Jinas to arrange a leave of absence for him and Elinalise from Ranoa Magic Academy as they need to travel to Rapan, Begaritt Continent.[4]
Rudeus and Roxy returns to the university to report their return where Roxy went to talk with Jinas to ask for a job as a teacher. They had a talk about their past dispute, after that Jinas hired Roxy as a teacher of the university.[5]
At some point, he replaces Georg as the Head Teacher of the Academy. After gaining his new position, there was a huge reduction in racism against the staff. He also pushed for announcing the truth about the students who died in the storage room even though it could potentially harm the Academy's reputation.[2]
